Google Business Profile
A Google business profile is always a big asset to any business. It’s also free to use.
Google business profiles can be thought of as free to use business listings that you can customize with information about your company.
There are also specific solutions depending on the business you run.
Google Analytics/GA4
Another free to use marketing strategy is by using the Google Analytics 4 or the GA4.
These are the most interesting SEO stats we think you should know:
- 68% of online experiences start with a search engine like Bing or Google
- (BrightEdge)
- 63.41% of all US web traffic referrals arrive from Google. (SparkToro)
- 92.96% of global traffic comes from Google Search. This is further divided into Google images, Maps and Youtube
- (SparkToro)
- SEO drives 1,000%+ more traffic than organic social media. (BrightEdge)
- 60% of marketers say that inbound (SEO, blog content, etc.) is their highest quality source of leads. (HubSpot)
- SEO leads have a 14.6% close rate. (HubSpot)
GA4 lets you add code snippets to all pages of your site and then see in real time how those users engage with you on your website. There are a bunch of different insights to learn.
GA4 is a powerful tool to set up from day one and monitor performance as well.
It also helps you drill down to your Google marketing strategies to determine which ones are working and which ones could use improvements. Segment different users, see who came from organic or paid listings or even from Google business profile listings. You can also understand your site content better and how well users engage with the same.
Ultimately you can create both events and key events. You can track conversions based on actions users take on the site. Monitor how these specific actions are taken and this is similar to what you can see on Google ads.
However you can get more customization options here.
How to get started
This section will give you an overview of reports in the GA4. You can see how well people engage on your site and see what all features are here for you.
- Realtime: The report shows how many users are present on your site at the moment and where they are in the site, what pages are they browsing and any events they may have executed.
- Engagement: The engagement reports tell you how long usres were on your site which pages they saw and the events they conducted on the pages.
- Acquisition:Ever thought about how users come to your site. THe acquisition reports help you see the source, discern whether it is organic or paid and see the campaign and term used.
- Monetization: If you are an ecommerce site or sell anything valuable, track those purchases based on value of goods sold.
Low-cost Google marketing strategies
These strategies aren’t 100% free—they’ll likely incur some cost but it probably won’t be the biggest chunk of your marketing budget.
A compelling website
A GOOGLE business profile provides you with valuable real estate on the search results page, offering you customizable space and that’s a small range you can have on potential customers. Sometimes you can’t add all the necessary information in those listings. That’s why a compelling site with description and images come to the rescue.
There are many directions you can go with a website. You can use out of the box templates where you can add some info or pictures or use the custom built route. Neither option is fully right or wrong.
Here is my list of priorities for a compelling website in 2024:
- Fast page load time: Especially in 2024 nobody wants a site where they have to wait for more than five seconds for the site to load. Invest in a site that loads quickly irrespective of the connection people use.
- Otherwise you tend to lose a portion of the audience before you convert them.
- Mobile compatible: We all use tiny computers in our hands. However, not all sites provide a good environment for seamless mobile experience. Just like load times, don’t frustrate people with bad mobile experience. Even if you refuse to use some bells and whistles the mobile app would be great.
- Keep the site informational and choke full of content
- All product/service information included: Don’t skip out on details. Shoppers are more savvy than ever before and they can very well tell if you are hiding something from them. Don’t leave out details. Add additional pages where people can learn more. Add compatibility guides, customer reviews and more photos.
- Interesting images: You can use ai tools like Midjourney to create interesting images. Many sites only use stock images. We have cameras using which we can take good pictures.
- They might not be very polished but since they are realistic they tend to resonate well with customers and they are also helpful.
- Clear calls to action: We all want more business and this is how you do it.
- Ensure there are clear next steps for potential customers every step of the way. Add phone numbers on all pages if you want phone calls to come.
- Add forms to pages when you want people to submit inquiries.
- Make sure to capitalize on great site experience.
Search engine optimization
Aside from some text on your site, employ basics of search engine optimization. SEO is the practice of improving your site to be more visible on Google.
There are many ways to do this through on site and off site best practices. Since you don’t pay for landing organic queries, SEO is a great strategy for companies to use and there are infinite resources as well.
But this is also very competitive. You can also go the DIY rute and read on seo articles from around the web.
How to get started
Here’s what to do to get started.
- Technical SEO: Ensure your site is easy to crawl and be read by Google. Use different tactics to ensure that you are on top of Google seo best practices.
- On-site SEO: This refers to content on your site that we already talked about before. Ensure you cover relevant topics and that the content is original.
- THe information should be up to date and original, better than your competitors are offering and formatting options like meta tags, descriptions and headers should be present.
- Off-site SEO: Offf site includes listings review, ratings, and PR.
